External links

An external link opens a URL of your choice in the same or separate tab.

For guides displayed in a widget on your website, you can use a relative path (also called a relative URL) instead of a full URL to guide people to a different page in the same domain.

You can also make the URLs dynamic and different for each visitor by including variables.

External links in the widget

If a guide is open inside the Stonly widget and Open in a new tab isn't selected, the behavior will depend on the link:

  • Links to Stonly guides open inside the widget.

  • Other links load in the same browser tab, closing the widget.
