If your top load washing machine isn't spinning during it's program it may relate to a component failure (such as the control board, a loose belt or a motor failure) or more commonly, it relates to a blockage within the drain hose or drain pump.

Start by checking the following:

Check that your drain hose isn't kinked, compressed or damaged.
Check that your drain hose isn't blocked.
Check that your drain hose has been installed in compliance with the product's user manual. It must be draining at a minimum height of 86cm and a maximum height of 100cm. If the drain hose is installed outside of these dimensions, it will cause the appliance to fault.
Check that your homes' plumbing which your washer is draining into, isn't blocked.
Ensure that you aren't overloading your washing machine. If it detects that it's been overloaded, it will prevent the spinning for safety reasons.
Check that your machine is level and its feet are all wound down to the ground. If the machine detects that it's out of balance, it will block the spinning process for safety reasons.
Check the drain pump filter (located within the base at the rear of your washing machine). This can easily become clogged or blocked with things such as tissues, lint, soap grime, coins, bobby pins, etc, and it should be checked and cleaned every 3 months as part of your washing machine's general maintenance.
