You can map any type of guide data that's available for data transmission (e.g. step names, choice labels, custom text) to Case fields.

To do that for a specific step:

In the guide editor, open the step from which you want to send data.
Click the data transmission icon in the top toolbar.
In the data transmission modal, set Data to send to the type of data you want to send.
To define Target, click on the command assistant and select Salesforce (standalone).
As the action, select Set record field > Case and choose the field title.

You can also type the Target manually, without using the command assistant. The command syntax should look like this: Salesforce - set-Case-FIELD_NAME where FIELD_NAME should be the field name of the Case field to which you're mapping the data.

All data mapped this way will be added to the Case once the visitor submits a contact form in the same guide.

Inputs

If you have input fields inside regular steps and want to map them to Case fields, you need to configure data transmission for both the step and the input.

The process is similar to the one in the previous step.

On the step-level data transmission, Data to send should be First input value or All input values and target set to Salesforce - set-Case.

On the field-level, data transmission key should be set to Salesforce field name.

Sample implementation

In the example, we set the field Origin in a Case to Guide. A phone field is filled with the user's input.
