Description

The Disclaimers feature allows you to append a plain text message to your emails after your signature and any Campaigns. The Disclaimer is applied like a signature but is not connected to any specific signature template, unlike the Disclaimer signature element found in Brand Kits which is specific to the templates it is added to. Disclaimers are always applied to whichever configuration(s) you have set up, whether Client-Side, Server-Side, or both.

How to access it

  1. Log in to Exclaimer and select Disclaimers from the menu sidebar. This opens the Disclaimers screen.


    Select Disclaimers from the menu sidebar to open the Disclaimers screen.

  2. Select Create Disclaimer.


    The Create Disclaimer button is found in the Disclaimers screen header.

Creating a Disclaimer

To create a Disclaimer:
  1. Select Create Disclaimer to open the Create Disclaimer screen.

  2. Select the Enable this Disclaimer toggle to set the Disclaimer as Enabled. This allows the Disclaimer to be used.
  3. In the Disclaimer Details section, enter a name for your Disclaimer in the Disclaimer Name entry field.
  4. In the Define Disclaimer section, enter your Disclaimer text in the text entry field up to a maximum of 5000 characters. This must be plain text.
  5. [Optional] Under Adjustments, set or edit a width for the Disclaimer in pixels (px) using the Width entry field. The default width is 600px.
  6. [Optional] To add space between the Disclaimer and other areas of the email, enter pixel values in the Padding entry fields for top, right, bottom, and/or left.
  7. Under Text Alignment, select a radio button to align the text in your Disclaimer Left, Center, Right, or to Justify.
  8. Under Text Direction, select a radio button to choose whether your Disclaimer text is Left to Right or Right to Left.
  9. Use the Preview section to view how your Disclaimer will appear in an email. The Preview updates immediately once any editing changes are made.
  10. Select Save from the unsaved changes banner and return to the Disclaimers screen.


    The Save/Cancel banner appears on the screen when you have any unsaved changes.

Viewing the Disclaimers screen

The Disclaimers screen displays a list of your Disclaimers.


The Disclaimers screen displays your Disclaimers and their details, including editing options.

Each Disclaimer displays the following data and options:

Display Purpose
Name The name of the Disclaimer.
Image
An image preview of the Disclaimer.
Senders Which email addresses may send emails with the Disclaimer attached.
Configuration

Displays the following information:

The status of the Disclaimer. The available statuses are:

  • Live - the Disclaimer is enabled and currently within the set date range.
  • Disabled - the Disclaimer is not enabled.
  • Scheduled - the Disclaimer is enabled but the start date has not yet been reached.
  • Completed - the Disclaimer is enabled but the end date has passed.

Only Disclaimers that are Live will be applied to signatures.

Any date/time specifications.

Edit Select Edit to reopen the Create Disclaimer window and edit your Disclaimer, including Enabling/Disabling.
Manage Select Manage to open the Manage screen for the Disclaimer. This contains configuration options within the tabs. For more information on configuration options, see Manage Disclaimer rules.

Select the vertical ellipsis icon to access the Delete button.
