Account and Login Updates for Giglets

We’ve recently made some updates to the Giglets platform to help keep our users safe, streamline account management, and prepare for exciting new features.

While you can still log in to Giglets as usual, this guide is here to explain what’s changed, why we’ve made these updates, and how they may affect you and your learners.

1. Usernames

What’s changing?
Some usernames have been updated as part of the recent improvements.

What does this mean?

  • Learners can continue to use their usual login details.

  • Usernames will update automatically, without learners having to remember anything new.

  • No action is required from teachers or pupils.

If a learner has trouble logging in:
Teachers can see learners' usernames in the 'Pupils & Groups' section, and update the password if needed.

2. Password Requirements

What’s changing?
New or reset passwords now need to be at least 8 characters, and they are no longer visible in plain text to the teacher.

Why this change?
To meet security standards, helping to keep everyone’s information safe.

Who is affected?

  • Only users who are creating or updating a password.

  • Schools do not need to reset all passwords - existing ones will still work.

What if we can't log in?
Teachers can view learners' usernames in the 'Pupils & Groups' section, and manually update password(s) if required. Teachers can request a password reset when they log in which will be sent to their registered email address. Any issues, don't hesitate to contact support@giglets.com.

3. New Login Page

What's changing?
As part of the ILT Education family, Giglets is transitioning to a shared login system. This will make signing in across all ILT products easier and more consistent.

What does this mean for you?
You might notice some changes to the login page, but you can continue to log in to Giglets using your regular details. No new steps or changes are required for teachers or learners.
