When writing a profile summary, there are a few things you want to communicate:

Why you do it - What motivates you to pursue this area of study? What are you passionate about?
Where you are heading - What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself after you graduate?
The impact you make - What difference does your current or future role make?

As a student, talking about the future career path you will be taking rather than a current job is often preferable, since this often says more about what your professional goals are. If your current work or volunteering is relevant to your larger career goals, it may be beneficial to mention this in your profile summary.
