Adding video to a step

To add video to a step:

  1. Navigate to the step you want to add a video to.

  2. In the Media block, click Add media.

  3. Select Add a video from the dropdown menu.

  4. In the modal, paste a link to the video you want to add.

Supported platforms

We support media from the following platforms:

  • YouTube

  • Vimeo

  • Dailymotion

  • Loom

  • Facebook

  • Twitch

  • SoundCloud

  • Wistia

Wistia: "video link is invalid or unsupported" error

For Wistia videos, you need to use the direct iframe embed URL and not the standard share link or watch-page link.

To find the embed URL:

  1. Open a video in Wistia.

  2. Click on Embed and Share or right-click on the video and select Copy link and thumbnail.

  3. Under the Inline Embed tab, look for the URL formatted like this: https://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/){mediaId} where {mediaId} is the ID of your video.

Self-hosted videos

We don't currently support uploading videos but you can link to self-hosted videos, even if they aren't stored in any of the supported platform. In that case, you will need to add an exact link to the video file.

File formats

We support videos in these formats:

  • mp4

  • ogg

  • ogv

  • webm

  • mov

  • m4v

  • mpd

Editing videos

After you add a video, you can use basic editing options. To access them:

  1. Open the step with the video.

  2. Hover over the video in the Media block, and click the ... icon.

  3. Select Edit from the dropdown menu.

Trimming

Trim the video by setting the start and end time.

Autoplay

Enable this to start the video automatically when the visitor opens the step. Autoplay is unavailable in embedded guided tours.
