Adding copy recipients (formerly called followers) lets you easily inform your teams and/or partners of the progress of the signing process, and give them access to the information in your signature requests (documents, recipients, status...). Find out in this article how to share your signature requests and the information to which copy recipients will have access.

Add a copy recipient


You can add copy recipients when preparing an signature request or a template, and also after sending the signature request (and at any time, even after the signature request has been completed).

A copy recipient does not need to have a Yousign account to follow the progress of an signature request.

To add a copy recipient when preparing a signature request or template :

  • Add copy recipients from the settings page,

  • In the "Copy recipients" section, enter a copy recipient:

    • Select it from your contact list, or

    • Enter the recipient's e-mail address, then click "Add".

  • Add up to 100 copy recipients per signature request,

  • If you make a mistake, click on the cross to the right of the copy recipient's e-mail address to delete it.

To copy a recipient after you've sent the signature request :

  • From the details page of your signature request, click on the "Share" button in the top right-hand corner,

  • In the window that opens, enter a copy recipient:

    • Select the recipient from your contact list, or

    • Enter the recipient's e-mail address, then click on "Add".

  • Add up to 100 recipients per signature request,

  • If you make a mistake, click on the cross to the right of the copy recipient's e-mail address to delete it.

Your invited recipients will receive an e-mail with a unique link to the signature request. They can then download the signature request documents and follow its progress.

Copy recipients are also notified by e-mail in the event of :

  • Approval

  • Rejection

  • Partial signature

  • Full signature

  • Cancellation of request

  • Expiration

By setting up a personalized experience (available in the Pro plan), you can deactivate certain e-mail notifications for copied recipients.

Edit copy recipients


You can revoke access to a copied recipient at any time. The information access link will then be immediately deactivated, and the copied recipient will no longer have access to your signature request or documents:

  • From the details page of your signature request, click on the "Share" button in the top right-hand corner,

  • Click on "Already shared with X recipient(s)",

  • Click on the cross to the right of the recipient you wish to remove,

  • Confirm by clicking on "Remove",

  • Close the window.
