What neighborhoods are in this tree planting campaign?
Our tree planting campaign aims to plant trees in areas of Chico that lack tree canopy cover. Some neighborhoods have noticeably more tree cover than others. Our tree planting efforts are focused on the neighborhoods that lack this cooling tree canopy cover.

We plan to have seasonal tree planting events, and may decide to focus on specific neighborhoods. For example, during the Fall 2020 campaign, over 500 mailer invites have been sent to community members in the following neighborhoods: El Paso, Panama, Pillsbury, Cohasset, and Arroyo (the neighborhoods circled in the second picture.) However, for our upcoming tree planting events, we are extending the area that we plant trees in to about 70% of Chico! All of the areas in blue (in the first picture) indicate eligible neighborhoods.
